C. Exposure visit of Livelihood Cadres :
Agriculture Community Resource Person and Livestock Community Resource Person under MKSP undergone exposure visit at Rural Resource and Training Centre, Umran, Meghalaya and Sikkim for learning the best practice done in other state.
D. Producers Group :
The mission develops guideline on Producers Group formation. The formation of producer group depends on the nature of livelihood activity members are engaged with. In case of Mizoram, it is observed that same farmer is engaged in multiple livelihood activities, one farmer rearing pigs is also engaged in orange cultivation as well as ginger cultivation. Hence formation of producer groups with solo activity may not be a very feasible option in this case. It is recommended to form PGs with focus on collectivizing all the farmers under one umbrella, PG will not only engaged in one or the other activity but try to select major economic activities in the village and try to work on all those, for example- in a village of 100 farmers, all the farmers can be members of PG and the major 5-6 products are taken care by PG in terms of market linkage, technical support, drawing infrastructure support, backward linkages, mutual help.
E. Training on Nutritional Garden :
The mission through partnership with SDS has develop nutritional garden layout design suitable for the state which include the following basic principles
- Right Location and layout designing: Terrace model to suit in Mizoram conditions, preferably in and around of home.
- Nourishment of soil health organically: Soil amendment, natural fertilizers, soil coverage, mulching & moisture management.
- Use of local materials: Usage of locally available material like FYM, cow urine, biomass, native seeds etc.
- Crop diversification: To maintain continuity of supply and diverse sources of nutrients, mineral, vitamins, dietary fibers etc. Focus on leafy vegetables, creepers, roots & tubers, fruits, medicinal plants
- NPM: Bird perch, yellow stick, repellant crops, mix cropping, herbal extracts, vermin wash, cow urine
All livelihoods staff undergone training on nutritional garden layout design. As per DAY-NRLM protocol, SRP who undergone training on kitchen garden trained Agriculture CRP based on seasonality calendar. CRP again conduct village level Mahila Kisan training which have a positive results in kitchen gardening under MKSP and Farm Livelihoods-AAP. Mahila Kisan learnt the technique of integrated pest management and nutrient management in nutritional garden. They also learnt about control insects and bugs without using chemicals. Crops like green pea, mustard and tomato are grown in many villages which provide balanced diet to the SHG family.
F. Livelihoods documentary film :
The mission develop farm livelihood documentary film on pig farming, poultry farming, seed selection, vermicompost and botanical extract preparation through the support of National Resource Person.

Interaction with market local traders was also done. Moreover, visit to Agriculture & Horticulture department, Aizawl market and market outside Mizoram was also done. Base on the finding, a team has develop plan of action plan for value chain studies.
