Selection of Livelihood Cadres & Mahila Kisan

Criteria for identification and selection of women farmer under MKSP :

  1. Candidate should be selected through Village Organisation and livelihoods sub-committee in consultation with MzSRLM staff.
  2. Candidate must be a progressive woman farmer.
  3. She must be a member of Self Help Group.
  4. The minimum age for women farmer should be 18 years.
  5. There should be only one beneficiary from one family.
  6. Women farmer should be selected on the basis of her primary occupation (Example : If women farmer is doing both agriculture and livestock, she should be enrolled herself only from her major occupation.
  7. She must be willing to take up organic farming.
  8. Shemust be best practitioner in the village on sustainable agriculture and livestock.
  9. Preference would be given to person belongs to marginal farmers community.
  10. She should be willing to travel and attend trainings/exposure visit organized by the mission.
  11. She should have good interpersonal communication skills.
  12. She should be literate.
  13. Candidate must be from local or project area.

 

Selection Methodology for women farmer under MKSP : 

Selection

Process

The selection process will be done in a Village Organization meeting where the following members will be present :

1)   MzSRLM (DFS/BMM/LC/CC) representatives

2)   Village Council representatives, MHIP representatives and other prominent members of the village

Village Organization president along with MzSRLM staff will facilitate the selection process in the meeting.

 

The SHG member present in the meeting will select the beneficiaries based on the criteria circulated by MzSRLM in a very transparent and participatory method.

Selection Procedure

The selection will be conducted in a very transparent method with the complete ownership among SHG members

 

Criteria for identification and selection of Agriculture CRP’s and Livestock CRP’s/ Pashu Sakhi :

  1. Livelihoods cadre should be selected through Village Organisation in consultation with livelihoods sub-committee by MzSRLM staff.
  2. Livelihoods cadre must be a progressive woman farmer.
  3. She must be a member of Grade A Self Help Group
  4. Shemust be best practitioner in the village on sustainable agriculture and livestock.
  5. Minimum educational qualification of Agriculture CRP’s and livestock CRP’s/Pashu Sakhi should be 10thpass and above (if possible). Relaxation if no other persons are available.
  6. Preference would be given to experienced and trained person on sustainable agriculture and livestock rearing practices.
  7. Preference would be given to person belongs to marginal farmers community.
  8. She should be willing to travel and attend trainings/exposure (within/outside state) organized by the mission.
  9. She should have good interpersonal communication skills.
  10. She should be literate.
  11. The minimum and maximum age for livelihoods cadres should be 20-45 years. (Relaxation if no other person is available)
  12. Candidate must be from local or project area.
  13. One CRP will look after two neighboring villages due to less number of household in a village. If the village is located at remote places, there will be one CRP per village.
  14. The VO will maintain proper personal record of the selected cadres. The mission will conduct induction and orientation training for the cadres after which the VO will engage her for a period of one year. Refresher training will be conducted by the mission base on the season and requirement. Extension and renew of engagement period will depend base on the performance of livelihoods cadres.
  15. The selected cadres have to submit consent letter of her husband or family to the block office.

 

Selection Methodology for Agriculture CRP’s and Livestock CRP’s/Pashu Sakhi:

Process

The selection process will be done in a Village Organization meeting where the following members will be present :

1)   All the members from the project target SHG’s of the village

2)   Village Council representatives, MHIP representatives and other prominent members of the village

3)   Farmers, common representatives from village

4)   MzSRLM (DFS/BMM/LC/CC) representatives

Village Organization president along with MzSRLM staff will facilitate the selection process in the meeting.

 

The SHG member present in the meeting will nominate 3 candidates each for Agriculture CRP/Livestock CRP from SHG’s member. They will be ranked based on the criteria circulated by MzSRLM and willingness of the nominee during the meeting in a very transparent and participatory method.

 

The nominated members who get highest vote based on the criteria circulated will be selected and a resolution be taken in the meeting.

Note : Agriculture CRP/Livestock CRP will look after 2 neighboring villages. In remote village, there will be one CRP per village

 

Selection Procedure

The selection will be conducted in a very transparent method with the complete ownership among SHG members and representation among the identified SHGs of MKSP project.

 

Based on the community selection, candidate will be selected for CRP
