Training Architecture

Mizoram State Rural Livelihoods Mission follows a systematic process designed by National Mission Management Unit (NMMU) for training and capacity building of staff, livelihoods cadre and mahila kisan. The capacity building is continuous process to upgrade the skills and knowledge to serve effectively. The capacity building framework includes induction, thematic training, demonstration and exposure visit to fulfill the requirement of the staff, cadres and mahila kisan. All livelihoods staff undergoes livelihood induction training as per the module designed by NMMU. In addition, staff also undergoes State Resource Person training on Sustainable Agriculture and Livestock where a pool of National Resource Person train them on different topics related to sustainable agriculture and better livestock practices. The train staff appears for exam at the end of the training and certificate was given to them accordingly.

State Resource Persons already trained on sustainable agriculture and livestock were re-oriented and nurtured to drive the agenda from top to bottom of the SRLM units. National Resource Persons from the pool of National Trainers were roped into assist and supplement existing knowledge pool. To avert dilution in dissemination of trainings, State Resource Persons directly train and capacitate Agriculture Community Resource Person and Livestock Community Resource Person on various livelihoods activities so that they can give services to mahila kisan at the village level.

Newly identified Agriculture CRP and Livestock CRP undergoes induction training at the State, District and Block level with the help of NRP/SRP/line departments and SRLM staffs. They also undergo exposure visit to best practicing sites within or outside the state. The main focus of the training was to understanding basic agriculture and livestock management techniques to provide extension services. Repeated dose of training was given based on the season and module develops by the mission.

VO livelihoods sub-committee were trained through SRLM staffs in creating awareness among SHGs, a refresher course for each of them will be conducted to ensure long term goals.

Community capacity building was driven through regular Farmer Field Schools and Pashu Pathshala. Mahila Kisan has been given farmer card, self learning leaflets, booklet, calendar etc. to ensure retention of knowledge and self development. To ensure that assets created under convergence are well maintained and utilized to the fullest, beneficiary was given training on setting up of units, maintenance, enhancement and sustainability.
